He added that all the cases were framed only to damage the image of two Sankaracharyas. He pointed out that the Dravida Kazhagam was organizing meetings everywhere to belittle the Hindu Religion and this was consistently encouraged by the State Government. 'But the same police are not even allowing as conducting our protest meeting'.

He said that for the public meeting (arranged for 6 February) permission came only after the court intervention that to with 23 dos and don'ts.

Vedantam said the Special Investigation Team should be questioned on how the important documents pertaining to the case were constantly leaked to a certain section of the press alone.

He also asked the government to take steps to stop the large scale conversions taking place at the tsunami affected Nagapattinam and Cuddalore areas by some Christian Missionaries doing the rounds under the garb of charity workers.
