New Delhi, Dec 23 - VHP International Working president Ashok Singhal yesterday claimed that the Centre had pressurised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalthaa to arrest Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswati.
"Jayalalithaa alone could not have done this," he said, adding, there was pressure from the Centre to arrest the seer. Singhal was speaking at a programme organised by the Rashtriya Swabhiman Manch, launched on the initiative of Subramaniam Swamy.

Addressing the meeting, RSS chief K S Sudershan asked the UPA government to clarify its stance on Congress leaders whom, he claimed, had been put under a cloud of suspicion by the Jain Commission's report in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

"The mystery should be unravelled as it is linked to the country's security," he said. The Sar Sanghchalak was speaking at programme organised by the Rashtriya Swabhiman Manch.
