VELLORE,JANUARY 11: The Kanchi Acharya Jayendra Saraswati was accorded a traditional reception with ''Poorna Kumbam'' when he came of the prison gates here on tuesday following the Supreme Court granting him bail yesterday in the Sankararaman murder case. The ''Kalasam'' was brought by All India Vedic Pandit Association President Raja Vathiyaar from Chennai. He garlanded the seer and sought his blessings. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) International President Ashok Singhal presented a cardamom garland and draped the acharya with a shawl and sought his blessings. The acharya, in turn, put the shawl back on Mr Singhal. Scores of mutt followers, who had gathered before the prison, vied with one another to have ''darshan'' of the seer, who has been incarcerated since November 12 last year. Later, the seer was taken to the ''Chinna Mutt'' at Kalavai, about 40 km from Kancheepuram, as the Apex Court, while granting conditional bail, had said that he should not enter the Kanchi Mutt till the charge sheet was filed in the case.
